The CWCV was founded in 1951 and has for its objectives the encouragement of walking and allied activities and the fostering of a greater appreciation of the outdoors. We have around 100 members from all areas of Melbourne and country areas.
This year the Club celebrates 75 years.

We run a busy program of bushwalks, bike rides, ski trips and social activities throughout the year. Go to the What We Do and Program pages for details.
Membership of the C.W.C.V. is open to anyone eighteen years of age or over who is genuinely interested in bushwalking. We ask that you do four trips within twelve months to qualify for membership. For more information about the CWCV please either email the Club using the form below or contact the President on 0413 403 220 or the Secretary on 0413 403 220.
The CWCV takes all reasonable precautions to ensure your health and safety while on Club activities. For your part, you need to be confident you have the required level of health and fitness for any planned activity. Please avoid club activities if you have any symptoms of a condition that could be contagious.
We meet each other on walks and other activities, therefore we have no official meetings other than the AGM in June.
The C.W.C.V. has adopted the Code of Conduct as set out by Bushwalking Victoria.
Where there are differences between the BWV Code and the Club Rules, the Club Rules prevail.
